Estimating the future condition of road networks is a challenging task due to an enormous number of influencing factors such as traffic volume and climate. Based on our previous research project ProZEnt we continued to work on new approaches to forecast pavement conditions in dependence on the material properties of road sections.
Within the project mapFALKE we developed deterministic and probabilistic forecast models, which were tested and validated with a web-based prototype. Furthermore, our project team was able to analyse the ageing of binder by using the dynamic shear rheometer (DSR), which was tested on in-situ samples and on artificially aged samples in the lab.
We want to thank all project members for this successful collaboration!
