IMC at the Transportation Research Board (TRB) in Washington, D.C.

The TRB Annual Meeting is one of the largest and most important transportation conferences in the world, with almost 11,000 participants and more than 5,000 papers submitted.

IMC was represented there this year with two contributions:

First, we presented the research project AMSfree entitled “Exchange and Exploitation of Data from Asset Management Systems using Vendor Free Format“, in the poster session “Important Tools Making a Difference in Transportation Asset Management” organized by the Asset Management Committee. This research project which was carried in cooperation between Hochschule Karlsruhe, RUB, INGEO and IMC contains essential principles and concepts for uniform data exchange between BIM and asset management systems of road infrastructure owners.

Secondly, we gave an overview of another currently ongoing research project for FEDRO at the Subcommittee Meeting on Safety and Security of Bridges and Structures.

We thank the Committee on Transportation Asset Management (AJE30) and the Subcommittee AKT50(1) for the opportunity to present the two projects, taking back home some new ideas for further research.

Thanks to the Transportation Research Board: National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine for organizing this impressive yearly event! See you next year!
